Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad refused to comply with the final period this year the government established the Western U.S. and related nuclear programs.
President Obama has set a deadline until December of this for Iran to respond to the offer of dialogue on the Iranian nuclear issue. Washington and its allies have warned that new sanctions will be heavier imposed if Iran does not respond.
In the deal offered to Iran stated, Iran would send uranium deposits abroad to be processed into nuclear fuel rods. With so would remove the West fears that the material could be used to produce nuclear weapons.
But Iran ignored the offer. Even Ahmadinejad sparked, the international community can provide a lot of deadlines but Iran will not care.
“They say time has given Iran until the end of the year. Just who are they? We’re the ones who have given them a chance,” said Ahmadinejad in a speech at the City of Shiraz, southern Iran.
“We told you that we are not afraid of the sanctions against us, and we were not intimidated,” Ahmadinejad said as reported by Reuters news agency on Wednesday (23/12/2009).
Ahmadinejad again insisted his country was not trying to produce atomic bomb as charged the U.S. and its allies. “If Iran wants to make a bomb, we would be brave enough to tell you,” said the leader of the Islamic republic.
The Iranian government has repeatedly asserted that its nuclear program solely for peaceful purposes, namely as generating electrical energy. But the U.S. and its allies accused Iran secretly trying to develop the atomic bomb through its nuclear activities.
